Group therapy allows individuals with a similar concern to process simultaneously. This can help people not feel so isolated in their experiences which ultimately leaves them in distress. Group therapy is a great opportunity to expand your skills.

Group sessions are going to be significantly less than one-on-one sessions. The costs are shared between group members.

Connection

There is a great since of connection with yourself and life when you realized you're not the only one. Additionally, there is the opportunity to connect with group members.

Perspective

Through hearing other's story, you are able expand your perspective on your own experiences that lead to healing. 

Final Thoughts

Group therapy can often times be more intimidating than private sessions. The thought of sharing thoughts and emotions with a stranger can be scary so to think about doing this with multiple strangers can be daunting. Similar to private sessions, however, you only have to share what you feel comfortable sharing. Additionally, with it being a shared space, there will be limited opportunities to share compared to private sessions. The therapist is there to facilitate the experience. Some groups do more verbal process while others are more reflective, internal experiences.
